Chris Howell
Owner, Engineer, Guitarist
Chris Howell is the owner and head engineer at the studio. He's been a professional musician for over 20 years as a guitarist, producer, and engineer and has worked and toured with numerous artists ranging from rock to country to alternative to you name it. Chris is an AEA artist.
He started off playing guitar with various bands in the DFW area, writing songs, and performing around the southwest. Chris releases his own solo acoustic instrumental singles along with his current musical expression as guitarist and vocalist for the band Rocket Signs. In the early 2000s he moved into recording and engineering and opened Café Solo Studios in 2006 in Dallas, TX. He then relocated to Denton in 2012, and the studio has since received the honor of being a finalist in the Best of Denton County for 2018 and 2021 and winner in 2019 and 2025.
Chris loves playing guitar, making music with people, the city of Denton, reading, bourbon and coffee.
